Though Thors is recorded as living in London, he worked also in the Midlands where he is regarded as a member of the Birmingham School. He mainly painted landscapes with cottages and figures much in the manner of the Norwich school painters. He usually produced pictures on a small scale, though at his best, in his larger compositions, he achieved a high standard, comparable with many of the best landscape artists of the day. He exhibited at the RA, the BI, SS and in Birmingham.
