Adam was born in 1970 and grew up on a farm in the Cotswolds, where he still lives and works today. He studied art at Cheltenham College of Art where he specialised in sculpture. For many years he worked as a commercial sculptor, creating small pieces for Harmony Kingdom. At the end of 2002 he launched his own company, Adam Binder Editions.
However, it is the creation of wildlife subjects in bronze, reinforced by his trips to Africa, that he is passionate about, and on which he now concentrates. Like most of the best sculptors, there is a degree of interpretation in his imagery, whereby he draws out the essence of the subject without resorting to direct representation. Through his work he is keen to draw awareness to the plight of the world’s endangered species, and already raises funds in support of international conservation groups.
