Chris Thomas studied Fine Art at Reading university in the late 1960s under Claude Rogers, Ray Atkins and John Wonnacott. He has lived in a small village next to the ocean for the last 30 years where he documents rural life and explores the wild and rugged landscape of North Cornwall.

He is essentially an impressionist painter, though his work has a strong underlying structure. He uses heavy impasto on a board support. His paintings are usually hung unframed.
